Payments + Pricing

MYS services are designed to be free to schools. When a customer orders a yearbook or ad online, they pay a nominal processing fee which is retained by MYS. (The processing fee is added to the order and paid by the parent - not the school.)

Online Yearbook Sales - Customers are charged a processing fee based on the price of their yearbook. See below.

Yearbook Ad Design - If the customer pays for their ad online they are charged a processing fee. See below. As an adviser, if you choose to allow parents to pay for their ad at school, they can still design their ad online by paying a $5.00 flat fee (regardless of the ad price). When you set up your school, you can set whether this option appears on the order page.

My Yearbook Zone - This service is free to schools who use one or more of the above services. If you are only using My Yearbook Zone, the cost is $25.00/year which supports up to 5000 students and 200MB of online photo storage.

Payments to Schools

Payment periods at MYS are based on calendar months. At the beginning of each month, schools receive a check for the previous month's sales. There is never a minimum balance required for a check to be sent.

With MYS, not only are schools able to track sales online at any time, but they are emailed a summary monthly, in addition to receiving an email at the time of each sale (if desired).

Processing Fees

The processing fee at MYS is calculated based on the product price and service. (Ads purchased online that are to be designed with Yearbook Ad Design are subject to a different processing fee than yearbooks.) As such, processing fees are calculated for each product rather than the order total.

New to MYS this year:

  • The MYS processing fee is no longer based solely on a percentage. This had resulted in very large fees for more expensive orders.
  • The MYS processing fee is programmed to come out to either $(?).00 or $(?).50 - no longer will processing fees be something like $2.68 .
  • The MYS processing fee is calculated on a per-item bases rather than the item total, since yearbooks and ads to be designed online can now be purchased together and are subject to different processing fees.
  • The default action of MYS is to now automatically show customers the total for each product (including the processing fee) rather than adding on the processing fee at the bottom of the shopping cart. This feature has been continually requested by many schools, especially since the launch of YAD last year. Schools have explained to us that they desire all orders to be placed online, but do not want to discourage a customer from placing an order online due to a processing fee. This default functionality can be overrided at any time for your school.
