Senior Recognition Ads
Yearbook Ad Design is a comprehensive online solution! This exciting tool allows parents to design their senior/parents ad at home without any work by the yearbook staff.
Like all of MYS' services, this saves time and headaches! The system was designed to be as user-friendly as possible.
The service is completely free for schools - yearbook ad designers are charged a nominal fee for using the online design system.
Step 1: Select Layout
Parents will be able to select a layout of their choice after designating the size of their ad. Schools can also grant access to parents to be able to design their own layouts online.
- Our program has support for standard ad sizes (full-page, half-page, quarter-page, eighth-page).
- We provide template layouts for each size, but schools and/or parents can also create their own personalized layouts. Layouts also support the rotation of elements.
- The background color of an ad can be customized. Once a parent chooses a color, our system will automatically recommend other colors for their ad based on color theory.
Step 2: Add Photos
Parents can upload photos from their computer to place in their ad, and our system will automatically make sure the photos are of high enough quality for the yearbook.
- Photos that are uploaded to our system are verified for compatibility and resolution standards.
- Parents without digital copies of their photos can mail us their originals for an additional fee.
- Parents can crop their photos, and our system will automatically constrain the proportions of the image to the layout box.
- Parents can add borders to their photos to really make their design pop.
- Schools can grant parents access to a clip art library for an artsy touch.
Step 3: Add Text
With the click of a mouse, parents can add a personalized message into their layout. Upon writing their message, parents can then style the text with different fonts and colors.
- Text can be customized by size, font and color.
- Text boxes can have background colors and borders, and text alignment is completely customizable (left, right, center, etc.).
Step 4: Place Photos
To add photos to the layout, parents simply select a box to place their image in. Once the picture is set, a cropper tool will appear, allowing parents to adjust their photos.
Step 5: Submit
Once the ad is designed, parents can view a preview of their design - no surprises on distribution day. Once the parent has approved the ad, they can submit it for approval.
Step 6: Approval
The school will receive an e-mail notification that a new ad has been designed, and it is up to the staff to approve or disapprove the design. If necessary, the ad can be revised.
Remain in Control
With Yearbook Ad Design, schools remain in complete control. We allow schools to approve or disapprove ads that are submitted through our system, as well as have the ability to
enable or disable features, such as clip art or layout customization. Some of the other controls that schools have are to set deadlines for their ads and even to limit fonts and color palettes
for text and/or backgrounds.
